About Infusions

What is Infusion Therapy?

Infusion therapy is administering vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into your bloodstream. By administering nutrients through an IV, nutrients are immediately available for your body’s use. Since the nutrients are placed directly into your blood, you get an immediate response. There’s no waiting for the nutrients to pass through the digestive system and the liver, which allows for maximum absorption.

What are the benefits of Infusion Therapy?

Infusion Therapy is a great way to improve overall well-being and boost feelings of wellness, by restoring the body’s balance.

Infusion Therapy can benefit those who:

  • are looking for that extra boost to their general health or love the idea of being proactive in preventing symptoms of numerous illnesses

  • are suffering from temporary symptoms due to an imbalance of nutrients

  • are in need of relief from unwanted symptoms of the common cold and fatigue

  • play sports and need to recover from athletic performance quickly

  • have a stressful, busy life

  • are needing a quick hydration boost for the upcoming week

Who can get an Infusion Therapy?

Our licensed medical provider will review your health history before an infusion can be administered. Anyone who has an allergy to any of the components, has moderate to severe kidney disease, or is an expectant mother will not be approved for an infusion. You must be 18 years old or older and able to sign consent for an infusion. Anyone 15-17 years old will need parental consent.

What is an injectable? How is it different than an infusion?

An injectable is given either intramuscularly (IM), which is when a medication is given directly into a muscle, or intravenously (IV), which is given as an add-on to any infusion. An infusion is a 500mL or 1000mL bag of normal saline containing a special combination of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids given over 30 minutes to an hour via an IV catheter that has been started by our RN. An injectable can also be given through this IV catheter, instead of IM.

What is included in the special blends available in the infusions and why are they important for your health?

  • The Vita-Complex Blend contains Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Pantothenic Acid (B5), and Pyridoxine (B6). The B-complex vitamins are important for energy production. There are several possible reasons why most of us are deficient. Diets that involve a high consumption of processed and refined foods, a lack of dairy and meat-based food in our diet, or an excessive consumption of alcohol can lead to a deficiency in the B vitamins. Those who suffer from conditions that impair absorption from the gastrointestinal tract can also be deficient.

  • The Mineral Blend contains Magnesium Chloride, Zinc, Manganese, Copper, and Selenium. The combination of these minerals are important in energy production, boosting your immune system, and overall wellness. Similar to the B-complex vitamins, many of us are deficient due to diet or impaired absorption.

  • The Amino Blend contains L-Glutamine, L-Ornithine, L-Arginine, L-Lysine, L-Citrulline, and L-Carnitine. L-Glutamine can help speed recovery, boost metabolism, and improve gastrointestinal health. L-Ornithine can accelerate recovery and increase mental sharpness during physical activity. L-Arginine can play a critical role in cardiovascular health, vasodilation (blood flow), erectile function, and general health and longevity. L-Lysine is one of the key building blocks of muscle tissue. L-Citrulline can play a critical role in cardiovascular health, vasodilation (blood flow), erectile function, and general health and longevity. L-Carnitine plays a crucial role in energy production.

What is Glutathione?

Your body naturally produces glutathione, which is an important antioxidant. It is made up of three amino acids called cysteine, glycine, and glutamate. Glutathione is a molecule that is involved in metabolizing toxins, breaking down free radicals, and supporting your immune system. When your body has a sufficient amount, you feel energized and your heart and brain are able to function properly. Problems occur when your levels are not adequate. Glutathione’s role in breaking down free radicals is very important. Free radicals are caused by poor nutrition, stress, environmental pollutants, smoking, and alcohol consumption. They attach to other molecules, such as protein, causing them not to function properly. Basically, free radicals are bad and glutathione gets rid of the bad. But when your glutathione levels are low, the free radicals begin to take over and you have an increased risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease. There are ways to help boost your glutathione levels. One way is to include foods that naturally contain glutathione, such as asparagus, avocado, cabbage, brussel sprouts, spinach, broccoli, garlic, chives, tomatoes, cucumber, almonds, and walnuts. Foods that are high in vitamin C can also increase your glutathione levels. But the question remains, is that enough? And let’s not forget about how glutathione supports your immune system by helping white blood cells produce more infection-fighting substances. By offering IM and IV glutathione, Reach Revive can help you increase your glutathione levels and improve your overall health.

How can an infusion help if you have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)?

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a condition characterized by an excessive increase in heart rate upon standing, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, palpitations, fatigue, and sometimes fainting. Managing POTS often requires a multifaceted approach, including lifestyle changes, medications, and supportive therapies. One effective supportive therapy for POTS patients is intravenous (IV) hydration.

IV Hydration Therapy for POTS

Purpose of IV Hydration in POTS: IV hydration helps increase blood volume, which improves circulation and stabilizes the heart rate and blood pressure. This can help alleviate many of the symptoms associated with POTS.

Benefits of IV Hydration in POTS:

  1. Immediate Symptom Relief: Rapid infusion of fluids can provide quick relief from dizziness, fatigue, and lightheadedness.

  2. Improved Blood Volume: By increasing blood volume, IV fluids help maintain adequate blood pressure and reduce the heart's workload.

  3. Enhanced Well-Being: Patients often report feeling more energetic and having better cognitive function after IV hydration.

Frequency and Administration: The frequency of IV hydration therapy can vary based on individual patient needs. Some patients may require weekly sessions, while others may benefit from bi-weekly or monthly treatments. The administration typically takes place in a clinical setting under medical supervision to monitor for any adverse reactions.
